St Mere Eglise - Street Scene
photo # 1. shows a laden Jeep with what appears to be deceased soldiers on stretchers laid across the Jeep. The Jeep is parked just outside the town centre and facing in the direction of the Chef du Pont road, just a further thousand yards along this road on the left-hand side would be one of two cemeteries established in St Mere Eglise. The second site was over behind where the current Airborne museum is today in the town square.
Photo # 2. shows the same background building and wooden gates as seen in 2010.
Photo #3. shows the new metal gates which replaced the old wooden gates that had hung there throughout WWII and finally replaced in April 2011
