Diamond T Model 981 Ballast Tractor.

Extensive restoration carried out 1996/1997. Work done included Cab and doors rebuild, new radiator, new wiring harness and many other jobs too numerous to list. All work carried out to full military spec. Vehicle has covered approximatley 750 miles only since restoration and has been seen at many local military/commercial shows.
Vehicle is currently shown in the livery of John Harkness & Co. Ltd. of Belfast. In the post war period it was owned and operated by the above company as part of their fleet of heavy haulage vehicles until union disputes led to the closure of the firm in the late seventies. A good source of reference, including a photograph, for this vehicle can be found in the book "The Iron Men of the Road" by T. McTaggart (Alloway Publishing).
Genuine reason for sale. Downsizing current collection and would like to see this fine piece of social history find a good home.
