Very rare 1944 Triumph 3HW motorcycle, this is the only one of two that I have seen due to the Triumph factory in Coventry being heavily bombed during WWII. I rebuilt the motorcycle over a year with as many original parts as I could find for a trip to France for the Normandy 65 D-Day anniversary (2009), the bike performed well but has had very little use since the trip, therefore I would like to pass it on to somebody that would use or show the bike more than I get the chance to.
As said the bike has had a complete nut and bolt rebuilt, professionally rebuilt mag/dino, forks, rear wheel, crankshaft, big and little ends. New piston and rebored barrel to +20, new regulator rectifier, new wiring loom, new seats, new pannier bags (reproductions with 1944 dated straps), new heavy duty chains and sprockets all round, new clutch and presser plates.
The engine and gearbox has had a full rebuild with many new and refurbished parts, she starts first kick and sound great.
Tyres are 1950's dated War Dept stamped Firestone in near new condition, canvas handlebar grips, the bike comes with original drivers/riders handbook and original spare KLG spark plug.
I don't know what
else I can tell you a few bad parts the speedo can pack up sometime but
new front wheel speedo gears are supplied with the bike, the brakes can
be a bit crap but that's 1944 riding for you (deadly in the wet), it has
a rear stand that works fine but no side stand (I can't find one anywhere
but could be made).
