This Jeep has been owned by me for seven and a half years , and was restored cosmetically seven years ago , with any minor mechanical faults attended to along the way when serviced. The body , chassis and differentials , I have been informed by an expert , is Willys , the engine is a Hotchkiss , as it's the same as the Willys 'Go Devil' being manufactured under licence from Willys in the 1950's and 1960's. Some History . This Jeep served with the French Army after the war , and was eventualy was put into store ,it was then recommissioned in 1971 with a replacement Hotchkiss engine , hence it's age related number plate . It was purchased in early 2000 by a farmer in Kent and used as a working runabout , and then purchased by me in late 2002. It was then restored only cosmetically with new canvas hood and seats etc etc , as the the running gear and general mechanics were found to be in excelent order , and still are. The mileage driven every year amounts to about 350 , and this vehicle has always been garaged and covered when not in use . She always looks as pretty as a picture and runs very nicely , she is my baby , and I have always treated her that way.... much to amusement of my Jeep owning friends ! She's a lovely old war horse , and deserving of a happy and unstressed retirement , because the has done her bit for the war effort , so she is treated with respect and great affection. Why sell this Jeep if he loves it so much ? you ask , the answer will be revealed to prospective buyers when they contact me. The asking price is £10,750 or near offer.
