Malta at War Museum
A modern museum dedicated to the daily life in wartime Malta. It is located at Vittoriosa's 18th century three-gated main entrance and is linked to a massive underground air raid shelter. It houses some very rare artifacts from the time, including Malta's first George Medal.
The museum is equipped with interactive interpretation, cafe', gift shop and toilets.

The Time-Gun Museum serves as an extension of the nearby Saluting Battery, situated within a 16th-century sunken artillery battery that formed part of Valletta's original defences. Until recently, access to this building was restricted to the public. the museum recounts the historical practice of using cannons and time-balls to signal time, particularly in the context of sea navigation. Discover the history and development of artillery, featuring a diverse collection of original cannons, artillery, uniforms, instruments, and equipment utilised at the Saluting Battery from 1570 to 1947.

See the world's largest cannon, an Armstrong 100 ton in this Victorian battery.
Throughout the year, historical re-enactors dressed as 19th Century British soldiers provide regular guided tours along with a full-scale military re-enactment combining the live-firing of historic artillery and cavalry.

Opened in 1940 to accommodate the Combined War Headquarters of all three services underground to protect it from aerial attack, this complex housed the Fighter Sector Operations Room used during the Battle for Malta 1940-43. Take the Wartime H.Q. Tunnel Tour.

Malta's ancient ceremonial platform in Valletta from where gun salutes are still fired on national occasions, religious feasts and to greet visiting ships and dignitaries. Two time-guns are fired from here daily at 12.00 and 16.00hrs.
