Superb Deactivated Ex RAF WW2 Smith and Wesson.38 Revolver.

This rare 6” barrel Smith and Wesson M&P model was issued to the RAF during the early WW2 period, probably around the Battle of Britain period and prior to the introduction of the S&W Victory model.
In really outstanding condition this pistol retains virtually all of its original finish.
The grips and medallions are undamaged, unworn and show little sign of use.
There is just a very small amount of almost imperceptible pitting to the barrel caused by a long period of holster storage but it is hardly visible. To all intents and purposes this pistol appears unused and rare to find in this condition.
Formerly the property of an RAF pilot this item remained in his possession, unused for many years during and after WW2 accounting for its rare unworn condition.
The pistol has recently been very sympathetically deactivated to current EU specification and comes complete with a current certificate.
The deactivation allows for inert shells to be loaded and ejected and six Kynoch S&W inert .38 rounds are included. The cylinder revolves, the ejection system works and both the hammer and trigger are free. The gun simply cannot be cocked or dry fired.
A really fine example of this rare and attractively finished revolver.
