1945 Springfield Auto Works G-527, 250-gallon U.S. Army WWII water trailer.
It is an aluminum body trailer recently restored to factory condition.
Springfield Auto Works built a total of 1,541 water trailers and only 342 in 1945. Comes complete with a new old stock (NOS) correct water pump, NOS pick-up hose and bell strainer, aluminum manhole strainer, muslin fine sediment strainer (repo), NOS tail lights, complete wire harness, new faucets and new tires.
Also includes a reprint of the TM9-883, original 1944 ORD 7-8-9 SNL G-527, original 1953 ORD 9-SNL G-527, canvas water bucket, original data plates (repo ones with correct data are on the trailer), two NOS axle washers, a set of NOS axle seals and a field expedient locking system for the tank (not put back during restoration).
The original USA number was found on the back of the tank during restoration. You will notice in the picture the landing wheel is missing. It is now on the trailer.
There is also a set of straps to secure the water hook-up hose to the bed being made at Beachwood Canvas Works based on an original set a friend was able to provide.
Those will be included in the sale.
