Hillman Minx 1936 Barn Fresh

This Hillman was bought from a guy who bought it in an estate auction.
Rumoured to have been off the road since 1964 which is supported by some evidence.
Odo shows 47,483 believed correct original miles. I've had it a couple of years, bought as non runner. Engine has had sump dropped and cleaned, head off and valves reground, Engine shows very little wear- so I suspect milage is correct (no proof). NOS gaskets fitted, ignition electrics replaced, new coil, dizzy cap, condenser etc, hoses renewed. Carb rebuilt. Tires and tubes replaced, brakes relined, sliding roof rebuilt.
It has a V5 with no previous keepers on an age related plate. It runs drives and stops. There is a file of receipts, original manuals and copy of Register of Motor Vehicles Cheshire which show date of registration 2/2/1936 and Voided off register on 9/12/1964 (likely due a fail of the newly introduced MoT then placed in storage).
It needs tuning up to get it running well so I wouldn't advise you plan driving it home.
Rear lights need sorting, front lights and trafficators working. I fit a modified Ford Pop fuel tank but not hooked up yet so still using auxiliary tank in passenger foot well. Has a great patina that I was going to keep as is. Original interior is good - just one tear in passage seat leather and a few mouse holes in headliner, original carpets.
Paint it olive drab and its an instant staff car - if your more ambitious these were converted to Tillys.
Its sold as is where is.
No silly offers please at the asking price I'm already loosing on it. I'm moving house so needs collecting promptly.
Please call on weekends, Wednesdays or after 6pm.
