Centurion Mk 12, complete with engine, gearbox, running gear and internals, ready for restoration to running condition.
This Mk12 Centurion Gun Tank, registration 43 BA 71, entered service 1 April 1955.
It is is remarkably complete condition, with engine (Rolls Royce Meteor Mk 4b), gearbox, auxiliary generator and most of the internal components still fitted and would make an excellent restoration project. It has been stored/on display outside for a number of years with resultant weathering on some of the lighter steel parts.
All of the hatches are closed, the commanders cupola can be opened to gain access to the interior.
The original AB413 (MoD Vehicle Log Book) is available with the vehicle, with sections 1-6 and 8 (Section 8s are included for the engine, gearbox and auxiliary engine) as well as gun docs for the barrel and breech ring. It has a recorded cumulative usage of 1,740 miles and the last recorded service was March 1992. It is understood that the tank served with 1st Royal Tank Regiment, 9th/12th Lancers and Queens Dragoon Guards.
