1943 Willys Jeep in great working condition, runs beautifully, all ready for show season.
I do believe this Jeep may have been one of the 22,000 ITM jeeps that went off to the French army after the war. As you may notice in some of the pictures there are some Hotchkiss characteristics. These are not major and given the original tub and chassis number, accompanied by an original engine and gearbox I would say that this under went very minor modifications before being enrolled into service with the French army.
Being that it retained its chassis number would give an indication that the jeeps condition after the war was good, hence it didn’t acquire a new ITM chassis number after a full rebuild by the French. The jeeps overall condition is good, rough around the edges but it gives it a good look.
Been garaged over 20 years.
Tyres are all good. Engine runs very well, in fact one of the best I’ve heard that hasn’t just undergone a rebuild!
However this engine was rebuilt in the 2000’s. Canvas is in good condition, complete with matching doors and sides.
Also a couple sets of half doors and windscreen covers too. All gauges work as they should. Just had the fuel tank drained and cleaned, all along with fuel strainer rebuilt and fuel lines removed & cleaned through.
Also had a new muffler.
Will come with some other little bits a pieces, wartime ammo crate with grease guns, fly wheel, bottle jacks and some other bits. Viewings recommended to appreciate and test drives welcome.
