1977 Ex RAF 12V Landrover Lightweight

I have thoroughly enjoyed this Landy. Solid example of this FFR Series 3 Lightweight. (no radio equipment included)
There have been several questions on History on other forums so I have added this in here. I bought this in 2017 and originally ERM 30 AJ 93 in service from 1978. It was held at RAF Regt Depot but served in RAF Boulmer. When released in 1993 I was told was at Selsey Lifeboat Station. I hold a good level of service history including:- -from 1993 to 2003 there is not much history but can only assume this is where it spent time at the lifeboat station.
Prior to my Ownership it had been well maintained by Landrover Specialists - Apple Developments in Kent and Coopers of London including servicing yearly from 2003-2008 and this also included a replacement gearbox in 2003.
Mileage rose between this period from 17500 to 25000. -From 2008 to 2017 it was in use and recorded milage rose to 29570. there are all MOT's recording this milage and some service history From 2017 to present it has not been used as much as I would like, and also moving so very reluctant sale. Always maintained when required and ready for sale I have replaced water pump, fuel pump, starter motor and fuel lines and has been running great. possibly the quietest series 3 engine out there !! Only done 31k miles currently. The engine on this one is great and compared to friends and others I have driven and general use is in the summer, car events and when i take off roof, frame and all panels, windscreen down, doors off to gently cruise through the countryside.
It has a new Exmoor trim roof and door cards. I have a service kit but not yet completed as bought for future use - ready for new owner to do.
Chassis and bulkhead is solid. Paintwork could be better as has brush marks on some surfaces and could be rubbed back and done better. I have mislaid the two aerials but if I can find I will add if not they are a good addition and not expensive. There is an ammunition box in back which has lock and found useful to keep spares, tools or valuables when out and about. I have a home made bikini canopy which I cut down from the old full cover if you get caught out when it rains There are 7 seatbelts ( 4 side ones in the back) Bits I would do if keeping -tidy up some rust on doors and light sand to remove brush marks / paint a little better -drive it more.

This is a very usable classic which can be improved or kept as is. I love the adaptability, 7 people, fully stripped back for summer days, beach trips, gardening, prom / wedding car, had so much fun with this over the years. Easy to maintain and looks amazing.
