Original Hull & Chassis GPA12265 Rare opportunity to acquire an original wartime Ford GPA amphibious jeep restoration project retaining its original hull and original numbered chassis GPA12265. This is a genuine 1943 Ford GPA ("Seep"), one of the rarest and most distinctive Allied military vehicles of the Second World War.
Offered exactly as found and untouched, the vehicle retains the components that are increasingly difficult to source today: its original wartime hull, original chassis with visible chassis number GPA12265, axles, steering components, dashboard structure and windscreen frame.
The vehicle is incomplete and requires restoration. Engine, gearbox, transfer case and amphibious drive components are not present. However, the most important elements of any GPA project—the original hull and numbered chassis—remain together.
The hull retains its original shape and proportions and has not suffered major structural collapse. As expected for a vehicle of this age, there is corrosion and areas requiring repair, particularly to the floor and lower hull sections, but the vehicle remains a genuine and restorable project. The rear transom is present and the underside remains substantially intact overall. Original wartime Ford GPA hulls with matching numbered chassis are becoming increasingly difficult to find.
Many surviving vehicles have lost their original identity, have replacement bodies, or have been assembled from multiple sources over the years. This vehicle offers an authentic foundation for a serious restoration based around an original numbered chassis and original wartime hull.
